Website Building
There's page one done. There are some things missing, but this is enough for now. The next step is to get my personal work up on page two, and then I can leave this for a bit while I look into hosting.
I had hoped that I could leave this standing as my main site, but I think proper hosting has to happen for a couple of reasons. The first is that I was unable to upload everything I want up there. I'm not sure why, but so far there are two images missing. I'll try again another time, but it's kind of irritating.
Anyway, that's one of them over on the left. It's the cover of the 2006 Summer Bio Book for the ICSC's summer programming. The sample of one of the pages is up on the website. Maybe it's not that big a deal for it to not be up on the site, but it bugs me that it's not.
Besides, what I was hoping for was to have all the images up in a gallery that folks could click to enter so you could see full size if you wanted to. On a properly hosted site I'll be able to add one very easily.
To the right, is the other missing image which I had wanted for page two. It's a personal piece called "Generations, 2002" and is one of my portfolio pieces.
The other reason I want proper hosting is the domain. Right now the URL of my page is nearly impossible to remember and my name isn't part of it. Neither of those things are positives from a marketing perspective. So the next step has to be host-shopping.
At least my stuff is up, which is more than I could say a month ago. And it will serve for the time being.
